I dreamed I was working at a restaurant, (a recurring dream theme). It was very busy & stressful, but I was keeping up with my tables well. All my guests at the tables seemed happy. I still needed to close all of my tables’ checks from the entire day, so I was behind there, but I planned to do that shortly. There was something on the menu, that was suggested from someone outside the restaurant, that for some reason I was having people try. I literally left the restaurant for only a moment and a person was eating that item. I came back and thought I’d have people try it. That person I think was a sales person. Anyway, I ordered it myself and gave it to new & old guests to try. No one liked it. It dawned on me then that I would have to pay for it. I thought, huh I wished they had liked it and bought it themselves. Oh well. But everyone was still happy and enjoying themselves visiting with each other while I took care of them. It started winding down, and I started needing to do my close up duties. Another employee made a comment and I realized that me, and no other employee either, had thought to do our clean up duties yet. And I still needed to close all my checks. Ugh, I thought! I went to get started, and other employees were talking. They were mostly friends I knew. We weren’t close, but I enjoyed their company at work. For some reason, and I think an employee asked me to do this, but I needed to leave the store to go get something or drop something off at a guest’s home, I think. Anyway, I don’t have a car. An employee offered to drive me. I said I needed to hurry because I still had all my closing duties to do and I needed to close my checks (it’d be embarrassing if my manager realized I hadn’t closed them yet). We headed out. She had a small, older car, and we had to both work to get it going. I vaguely remember helping her push the car to get it going. We got there. I said, wait right here, and I’ll be right back. So I found the guest’s home, did what the employee asked me to do. Then when I got back, my driver and her car were gone. I couldn’t find them anywhere. I thought, oh no, I need to get back to the store very soon. I found someone, who I think was another employee, and asked if they’d give me a ride back to the store. I said I was desperate, that I was running a quick errand for the store, and I didn’t even bring my phone because it was supposed to be so fast, so I couldn’t call anyone for help. I had my purse though. That person said no, they couldn’t, though it seemed more like they just didn’t feel like it. But I didn’t let them know I could sense that. I moved on, trying to find my driver. I found a new guest I took care of from the restaurant that day. I said I had a favor to ask and that I normally never would but I was utterly desperate. I explained the situation. He relented and seemed okay really with driving me back to the restaurant. On the way to his truck, we passed an old guest of mine from the restaurant. He kind of seemed like he wasn’t totally on board with the new guest doing me this favor. You could just sense it. But the old guest knew nothing of the story and I think was making assumptions about it all. Anyway, the new guest mostly blew him off. He said I had to get in the truck through his driver side window, though he had set up a stand so that it was a little easier to wiggle in through the window. I went through the window and got in the truck, then the driver, and we were heading back to the restaurant. I was so very relieved and so grateful to this person for giving me a ride back. Now I could finish up everything there. I woke up then completely exhausted. I could feel all the stress from the dream.
